Al Taj Al Malaki

Rahat Rizv is the owner of Al Taj Al Malaki General Trading UK Ltd, based just outside Manchester city centre. The business imports and distributes a variety of top-quality food products.

Bottomley's Pies

Bottomley's Pies is a pie-based home caterer in Urmston. Owner Steve Bottomley makes each delicious pie to order, and as a big believer in the personal touch, he delivers every order to his customers by hand. 

Trafford Council's Business Compliance support Officer, Grace, contacted Steve in April 2024 to offer a ranger of support, to help ensure Bottomley's Pies got off to the best start with their food hygiene and compliance.

Cafe La Vida

Cafe La Vida is a family run cafe in Stockport town centre. Their fresh and modern decor brings a wonderful vibrancy to the establishment where their friendly team are serving great coffee, delicious cakes and a range of hot and cold food - including delightful afternoon teas!

While owner Sanan already knew most of the requirements before opening, Stockport Council's Business Compliance Support Officer, Sarah, was able to offer advice and guidance on smaller details, saving time, costs and ensuring all records are in one place. 

Canal Side Cafe

Canal Side Cafe is a family run mobile cafe, situated by the Ashton Canal at Portland Basin, Ashton-Under-Lyne. Owners Lee and Annmarie Howell are thrilled to have been awarded a Food Hygiene Rating of 5, following their first food hygiene inspection by Tameside Council.

Lee and Annmarie first ran cafe's around 20 years ago, however the catering industry has changed a lot over the years, so the Howell's have had to re-familiarise themselves with all of the food safety rules and regulations. Helen, Tameside Council's Business Compliance Support Officer played a key part in supporting their compliance success.

Chelly's Deli

Chelly's Deli is a home catering business base in Sale, Greater Manchester, and is run by owner Aaron McManus. The business was awarded a food hygiene rating of 5 by Trafford Council. 

Trafford Council's Business Compliance Support Officer, Grace, contacted Arron prior to his food hygiene inspection, to talk about the compliance requirements for his food business, and what to expect in a food hygiene inspection. Along with a range of tips, and guidance and signposting, Grace helped to build Aaron's confidence in food hygiene and re-shaped his perception of environmental health officers. 

Elle's Kitchen

Elle's Kitchen was awarded the top food hygiene rating of 5 by Tameside Council in their first food hygiene inspection. 

Ellen Gordon, owner of the Droylsden based cafe, was thrilled to be awarded the top rating - especially as she comes from a compliance led background. She was provided with valuable advice and support from Tameside Councils Business Compliance Support officer, Helen, in the early stages of setting up the business and is very grateful for the impact of the guidance provided. 

The Hideout Cafe & Bar

The Hideout Cafe & Bar is an exciting new venue in Farnworth, Bolton. The incredible space has a kitchen serving up delicious home-made food, a large and vibrant bar and two sports halls!

Business owner Phil Juniper was pleased to receive an email from Patrick, Bolton Council's Business Compliance Support Officer, prior to opening as he was actively seeking guidance on food hygiene requirements. Patrick's support has had a brilliant impact in helping ensure the business is set up for compliance success.

JB's Cafe

JB's Cafe is a friendly and modern cafe in Audenshaw, Tameside. Owned and run by Julie Bradish, the cafe is a dream that has become a reality. 

Julie was already aware of the importance of maintaining excellent food hygiene standards, however this is her first time running her own food business. So when Tameside Council's Business Compliance Support Officer contacted her to offer guidance and support prior to her food hygiene inspection, she was pleased to have the reassurance that someone is available to contact in case any help or advice is needed. 

King Street Tea Room

King Street Tea Room is a cafe located in the indoor market in Farnworth, Bolton. Owner, Laura Isherwood, was very pleased to be awarded a Food Hygiene Rating of 4 by Bolton Council following their first food hygiene inspection. 

This is Laura's first time running a food business so she was very thankful when Bolton Council's Business Compliance Support Officer, Patrick, got in touch with Laura to ask if she required any support in relation to food hygiene, and he provided a range of information and advice that steered her on the path to success. 

La Vita Coffee

La Vita coffee is a modern and welcoming cafe in Westhoughton, Bolton. First time business owner, Renato Goroveci, was thrilled to achieve a 5 on their recent food hygiene inspection after receiving support and guidance from our Bolton Council Business Compliance Support Officer, Patrick. 

While some of his team are experienced in the hospitality sector, this is Renatio's first time running a food and drink business of his own, so he was very happy that Patrick got in touch and would recommend the service to other businesses. 

Love A bite

Love A bite is a delicious deli in Gatley Village, Cheadle offering up varied and tasty menu to suit everyone. They serve everything from salads to samosas to jacket potatoes and loaded fries (to mention just a few!).

Prior to opening, Stockport Council's Business Compliance Support Officer, Sarah, contacted Noorjahan - the deli owner, to offer support and guidance on food hygiene and compliance. 

The business subsequently secured the top score of 5 in their food hygiene inspection. Noorjahan told us about the impact of Sarah's support and how it helped her to make food hygiene compliance requirements easier to manage.

Orange Grove Kitchen

Located in Bury town centre, Orange Grove Kitchen is a fresh and friendly cafe where customers can enjoy a range of hot and cold food and drinks - including home made bakes. 

Owners Julie and Paul were thrilled to be awarded the top food hygiene rating of 5 following the cafe's first food hygiene inspection by Bury Council.

The council's Business Compliance Support officer, Joe, helped Julie and Paul to focus their attention on the right areas to make sure they were following all of the rules and regulations - helping them to secure the top FHRS rating.
