Victoria Spice

Victoria Osunde is the proud owner of Victoria Spice, a home caterer in Bolton. Victoria specialises in Nigerian cuisine, offering a delicious menu including jollof rice, fried fish, soups, stews and plenty more.

Victoria was awarded the top food hygiene rating of 5 by Bolton council in her first ever food hygiene inspection.

While setting up the business, Victoria ran into some issues with gaining permission from the council to trade from the property and the council’s BCS officer Patrick was able to work with the relevant team to help resolve the problem. Patrick also provided Victoria with advice and guidance on how to make sure that she’s in the best place to get the top FHRS score.

“I didn’t know about things like having the double sink. I was very thankful that Patrick told me this and I was able to make it suitable by getting a portable handwashing facility. He also explained to me how important it is to make sure I record everything on my food safety management paperwork such as cleaning and temperatures.  He helped to make sure I understand everything that I need to be successful.

After I was given a 5, I felt really confident. I was surprised too that the environmental health officers are not there to control you or scare you and I felt very relaxed during my inspection”.
