King Street Tea Room
Laura Isherwood is the proud owner of King Street Tea Room at Farnworth indoor market in Farnworth, Bolton. They serve hot & cold drinks and range of good value, tasty food including breakfast items, sandwiches, soups and cakes.
Laura initially ran a small sweet shop, located just next to the café but in April 2024, the opportunity arose to take over King Street Tea Room – a venture Laura had been keen on for some time.
When Bolton Council’s Business Compliance Support officer Patrick got in touch with Laura to ask if she required any support in relation to food hygiene, he was able to provide a range of information that steered her on the path to success for her inspection. The café was inspected by Bolton Council’s environmental health team in May Laura was thrilled to get a great food hygiene score of 4.
“I was nervous. I didn’t really know what to expect, especially with it being our first inspection. It was very stressful actually, but then Patrick got in touch and explained everything we needed to do to be compliant. That really helped to reduce the stress levels and worry.
The biggest help was the Safer Food Better Business book which Patrick told me about. That’s been so useful because you’ve got all your records in one place. He also explained about how to store different types of food which has been really helpful.
Getting a score of 4 was great, I’m very happy about that. Patrick’s help has taken a lot of pressure off”.
King Street Tea Room is open from 10am to 2.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You can have a look at their menu and get in touch via their Facebook page.
