No&Low Drinks

Tucked away on a Tameside industrial estate, No&Low Drinks is a premium alcohol-free beverage distributor run by mother-and-son duo Marta and Dominik Borawski.

We spoke with Dominik to learn more about the business, what inspired them to get started, and how Ann from Business Compliance Support helped ensure they were set up correctly from a food hygiene compliance perspective.

“We started the business at the beginning of 2026, but only began trading in May as there was quite a lot of legislation to work through and a few barriers along the way. Mum and I are both non-drinkers, and we recognised a real gap in the market for high-quality alcohol-free products. In restaurants, the only option is often mocktails, which tend to be a mix of fruit juices, and in supermarkets the selection of alcohol-free wines and beers can be quite limited and not always great quality. Across Europe though, it’s very different, it’s much more common to find a wide range of good-quality alcohol-free options in shops and restaurants.

We’ve done a lot of research and sampling, and we’ve tried over 300 alcohol-free wines this year alone. We’re really excited to have UK exclusivity for the brands we stock - many of which are already very popular across Europe.

At the moment, we’re mainly focused on B2B sales, but individual customers can also buy from us through our website.

When we were getting started, we registered with Tameside Council as a food and drinks business, and then had a call with Ann, which was incredibly helpful. She clearly explained everything we needed to do to stay compliant, and her support was key to us achieving a 5* rating. There isn’t a huge amount of information out there for businesses like ours, so having someone break it all down and guide us, especially with some of the harder-to-find details, made a big difference.

Ann also told us about the ‘Thrive With A 5’ workshop, which was really useful. It gave me the chance to ask questions and better understand what to expect during the inspection.
