Spotlight

Spotlight is a mobile catering business run by Maryam Mehdizadeh Kasani and is based on Middlebrook Retail Park in Bolton. Maryam proudly achieved the top FHRS score 5 following her first ever food hygiene inspection by Bolton Council.

Spotlight is Maryam’s first food business. She has always had a love for cooking and had previously worked in a coffee shop. After some time working in the coffee shop, the idea struck Maryam that setting up her own small business would allow her to choose her own hours in conjunction with completing her studies at university. 

During the process of getting started, Maryam had a range of support from Patrick, Bolton Councils BCS officer, telling us;

I asked lots of questions to the council by email and I didn’t even expect to get a response but then Patrick got in touch with me and answered all of my questions very clearly. It helped me to make sure everything was correct and to clear my mind of any worries. Some of the most helpful things were the information about labelling and pre-packaged food, the allergen matrix and even things like making sure the food is all made here on site. Patrick also told me about the Thrive With A 5 online workshop which I found vey helpful. I 100% recommend the support service”.
