Love A bite

Gatley based deli Love A bite was awarded the top food hygiene rating of 5 following their inspection by Stockport Council.

The deli has a fantastic menu that caters to everyone, from sandwiches, jacket potatoes and milkshakes to loaded fries, samosa chaat, salads and biriyani! The family run business is beautifully decorated and customers are greeted with a friendly welcome. 

The council’s Business Compliance Support officer, Sarah, contacted the owner of the deli, Noorjahan Begum, shortly after registering as a new food business to offer advice and guidance on food hygiene and regulations. 

“As a new food business owner, I have been stressing and have been trying to gather information from other food business owners and online in what to expect and what I need to do to prepare, but I found it very confusing and a lot to take it.

After speaking to Sarah, I found it much easier, and she made it seem very easy and straightforward. She provided me with lots of information and outlined all the key points. She also sent me an email outlining everything we spoke about on the call so I also got to look through the email every time I needed to recap – which was very helpful.

From all the information Sarah gave me, I created a folder for the SFBB pack, food safety checklist, temperature record sheet, all the allergy info, and certificates et cetera, which has made everything so much easier and more organised”.
