JB's Cafe
Julie Bradish is the proud owner of JB’s Cafe in Audenshaw, Tameside. The café is modern, welcoming and serves up a tasty, varied, homemade menu – all with a friendly smile.
Julie has always had a dream of having her own café and successfully made that dream a reality when she opened JB’s café in October 2023. The café is a popular addition to the local area.
With a background in the care sector, and having attended catering college, Julie was already aware of the importance of maintaining food hygiene standards.
When Helen, Tameside Council’s Business Compliance Support officer, contacted Julie prior to her first food hygiene inspection for the café, she was able to offer a range of advice and guidance. Julie went on to achieve the top score of 5 in her food hygiene inspection in July 2024, with a glowing report from the inspector.
Julie explained “Helen helped me with my food safety management documentation and gave me advice on cleaning products, which was very useful.
While I didn’t have any apprehensions about environmental health officers myself, I know a lot of people get nervous about them, but there’s really nothing to worry about - they’re not against you, they’re there to help.
Knowing what you’re doing is important, especially when you’re serving the public, and when it comes to Environmental Health, it’s important that we work with each other to get everything right. It’s nice to know that I’m able to contact Helen directly if any help is needed.
I’m really proud of getting a food hygiene rating of 5 – it means that what we do, we do it well”.
